This tragic story follows Tony and Maria - two young lovers caught between rival gangs in New York City. Their story unfolds with passion and urgency in a world divided by fear, prejudice, and the search for belonging. Created by Jewish artists Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Laurents and Jerome Robbins, the musical reflects a deep understanding of the immigrant experience and what it means to be an outsider.
