Annual Gower Street Block Party

The Gower Street Block Party is an annual community celebration that brings together the people of four historic churches in the Ecclesiastical District of St. John’s: Gower Street United Church, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the Roman Catholic Basilica, and the Anglican Cathedral. It’s really about celebrating the fact that we are neighbours and creating an opportunity for the wider community to come together, have some fun, and build connections.

It’s going to be a fun, family-friendly afternoon. There will be live music and entertainment for children, along with hotdogs, popcorn and drinks. We’ll also have a bouncy castle and face painting. Most importantly, people will have an opportunity to meet their neighbours, spend some time together and enjoy the downtown community.

We have a rain plan. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will move inside the Anglican Cathedral, so people can still come out and enjoy the afternoon with us.
